Hi NBA World! (NBA – OVERTIME, MY CONCEPT FOR A NEW ENDING).

November 27, 2012

People,

I was giving it some thought on the drive home from work yesterday about the rules in place for playing over-time in the NBA and I recalled listening to Ryen Russilo talk about the “overtime in the NBA” on (ESPN Podcast), actually it could have been Chris Mullin.

Either way, they were discussing a method of making overtime more exciting for the viewer and it was said, that the second the game goes into overtime each team picks there best player to go out and play a one on one for the win.

I thought it was a brilliant idea, you can’t imagine how badly I would have liked to have seen that in the past with Barkley Vs Jordan or Kobe Vs Lebron.

What do you think?

the heat would never lose a overtime game

    • Kobe, would have something to say about that.
I also think Rudy Gay, Steph Curry, Durant, Westbrook and K Love would all have a comment.

kobe 5 years ago might have something to say about that.

all those guys you mention dont have the combination of size speed and athleticism to battle with james.
sure westbrook is quick and athletic but james would post him up every time.
rudy gay isnt strong enough, and not even a allstar really.
durant is the only one u listen who might have a shot but last years finals kinda make u think he doesnt.
not one on one against lebron

There are a few teams you would allow a flip of a coin rather then wasting everyones time with a game of 1 on 1

  6. From a fans perspective it would be one of the most exciting spectacles ever. (Yes, it takes away from team) Teams like the Spurs would never win an overtime game. 🙂
